
Emma's Bio
Emma Wintle (BCCJ (Hons)) is a Criminologist and teaches policing and criminology at Charles Sturt University and Western Sydney University. Emma has conducted research with civilian and military police services in her capacity as Research Assistant at the Australian Graduate School of Policing, Charles Sturt University, and Research Associate at the Joint Military Police Unit. Emma works with Dr. Amber McKinley researching and writing reports on sexual offences and sudden death for the Provost Marshal-ADF.
Emma holds a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice (Hons) from the University of New South Wales and is currently a PhD Candidate at Western Sydney University, undertaking research on the efficacy of sex offender registration in Australia. Her current research also includes a comparison of the ‘FVEYS’ militaries sexual offence records and prevention models; and the Australian experience of familicide from 1816 - 2021.
